Abstract:Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg), a Gram-negative anaerobic bacterium found in dental plaque biofilm within periodontal pockets, is the primary pathogenic microorganism responsible for chronic periodontitis. Infection by Pg significantly impacts the development and progression of various diseases, underscoring the importance of eliminating this bacterium for effective clinical treatment.
