Portable Vertical Graphene@Au-Based Electrochemical Aptasensing Platform for Point-of-Care Testing of Tau Protein in the Blood

Abstract: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a long-term neurodegenerative disease that poses a serious threat to human life and health. It is very important to develop a portable quantitative device for AD diagnosis and personal healthcare. Herein, we develop a portable electrochemical sensing platform for the point-of-care detection of AD biomarkers in the blood. Such a portable platform integrates nanoAu-modified vertical graphene (VG@Au) into a working electrode, which can significantly improve sensitivity and reduce detec… Show more

“…DPV peak current decreased after the modification of antibodies, thereby indicating successful antibody immobilization on the electrode surface. The antibody concentration used in the experiment is 10 μg/mL according to our previous study [ 30 , 32 ]. Subsequently, BSA was employed to obstruct unbound sites, resulting in a further reduction of the DPV peak current ( Figure S1 ).…”

“…The vertical structure also provided good performance in graphene-based electrochemical sensors, where the resistance between the electrode and electrolyte decreases as the surface area increases [97]. In general, the vertical structure of graphene is also fabricated using a similar CVD technique [97,98].…”
