Abstract:For positioning of spacecraft with VLBI phase-reference, an extragalactic radio source was usually served as phase reference. After fringe fitting on the radio source, the solutions including delays and rates mainly from the propagation media were adapted to calibrate the observed phase of the spacecraft. The common phase errors of the nearby source pair were significantly reduced in their differential phases, allowing accurate relative position measurement. However, this traditional phase-reference method req… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
