Abstract:The excitation cross sections of the atomic hydrogen from n=2 ton=6 have been calculated for S, P, and D, from low energies to high incident energies (threshold to 100 eV), using the variational polarized orbital method (hybrid theory). Thirty partial waves been used to obtained converged cross sections. The maximum of elastic and excitation cross sections is at incident energy 26.66 eV.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
