The article is devoted to technologies of blended learning of students of higher educational institutions. The author presents the results of blended learning in the course "Business Communications" during the first term of the 2021-2022 academic year. Based on the statistical data obtained, the main methodological and organizational problems of mastering the theoretical part of the course by students in the format of video lectures, the advantages and disadvantages of the "blended learning" technology are outlined. Special attention is paid to current trends in the field of higher education: consideration of individual abilities, increasing demand for "soft skills", decreasing the importance of academic knowledge, active self-study, requirement of practice-oriented and entertaining content on the part of students, simplification of educational material, need for additional motivation of students, increasing the share of distance education, problems of university infrastructure and others.
