“…The HLA gene system has a major impact on the way the human immune system is regulated. The literature [ 13 ] showed that whether the body responds to antigenic substances and the intensity of the response is genetically controlled. The HLA class II gene region contains immune response regulatory genes.…”

“…While DRB1*07:01:01 ∼ DQB1*02:01:01 ∼ DPB1*04:01:01 was also identified in Lebanese women with RPL, 5 unique 3‐locus haplotypes associated with altered risk of RPL was reported for each population, highlighting the significance of ethnic background in determining the disease risk imparted by genetic factors 20,32 . Earlier studies that examined the contribution of multilocus HLA haplotypes to the risk of RPL were largely based on 2‐locus ( DR ∼ DQ ) haplotypes analysis, exemplified by the association of DQ2 ∼ DQ8 with RPL in Italian 26 and Polish 55 women. We favor the notion that the carriage of DRB1*07 imparted reduced RPL risk to the DRB1*07:01:01 ∼ DPB1*04:01:01 ∼ DQB1*02:01:01 3‐locus haplotype.…”

“…According to the latest publication, its concentration and genetic variant are of interest in this regard [71]. Likewise, the relationship between some HLA alleles and certain autoimmune disorders should be further studied as another possible factor involved in miscarriages [86].…”

“…Specifically, a higher proportion of women carrying the HLA-DQ2/DQ8 polymorphism has been observed among RPL patients [83]. Interestingly, this same polymorphism has been associated with an increased risk of celiac disease [84,85] and, in addition, with an increased presence of several autoimmune markers, such as anticardiolipin antibodies and anti-thyroid peroxidase antibodies [86].…”
