Possible Solution for Frequency Stabilization in a Multihop Network

Abstract

A solution is proposed to stabilize the frequency comb in a Multihop optical network in which coherent detection techniques are adopted. It is based upon the propagation of a high stabilized tone from a master node throughout the network working as reference. Moreover a technique is proposed to resist incidental failures which could interrupt the propagation of such a stabilized tone.
