“…In the present study, elderly individuals with GBVA were more likely to depend on visual information when faced with somatosensory disturbances, but elderly people with PBVA were forced to rely on their vestibular sensory system. Vuillerme et al [29] investigated the effects of balance under three visual feedback conditions (no visual feedback and a ratio between the center of pressure (COP) displacement on the screen and the actual COP displacement with scale displays of 2:1 and 10:1) and two support surfaces conditions (firm, form). The findings indicated that when somatosensory input from the feet is distorted by standing on a foam surface, none of the visual conditions significantly increase COP movement relative to the visual COP feedback conditions.…”
