Persistent postural-perceptual dizziness (PPPD) was defined for the International Classification of Vestibular Disorders in 2017. It is a chronic vestibular disorder that manifests with waxing and waning symptoms of dizziness, unsteadiness, or nonspinning vertigo that last for 3 months or more and are exacerbated by upright posture, active or passive motion of self, and exposure to environments with complex or moving visual stimuli. Triggers of PPPD include a wide variety of conditions that may cause vestibular symptoms or disrupt balance functioning, including neuro-otologic and other medical conditions and psychological distress. The diagnosis is made by identifying key symptoms in patients' histories and conducting physical examinations and diagnostic testing of sufficient detail to establish PPPD as opposed to other illnesses. Ongoing research is providing insights into the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying PPPD and support for multimodality treatment plans incorporating specially adapted vestibular rehabilitation, serotonergic medications, and cognitive-behavior therapy.

O sincronismo entre as atividades industriais e a gestão empresarial são condições essenciais para se alcançar o controle econômico com minoração dos fatores desestabilizadores da vida humana e repercussões adversas nos demais componentes bióticos. Nesse sentido, o atendimento das necessidades de segurança e saúde dos trabalhadores e da população estão intrinsecamente relacionados. Entende-se aí a relevância quanto ao monitoramento dos riscos ambientais. Por essa razão, buscou-se identificar os impactos relacionados ao ruído produzidos por um empreendimento do ramo de mineração. Os resultados então obtidos foram comparados com o disposto na ABNT 10151/2000 e as recomendações da norma ISO/1996. Verificou-se que as condições de trabalho no ambiente interno da mina, apresentaram dinâmica de operação padrão, porém, com limites de condições de audição desfavoráveis (ambientes ruidosos). Admitem-se, assim, medidas objetivas de controle para os trabalhadores, tais como: enclausuramentos, encamisamentos, barreiras, inserção de atenuadores. Em ambiente externo da mina, o ruído gerado ficou abaixo do Nível de Conforto Auditivo (NCA) em todos os períodos avaliados. Entretanto, constatou-se que os moradores nas proximidades do empreendimento apresentavam queixas pertinentes à poluição sonora. Nessa perspectiva, recomenda-se aproveitamento máximo dos obstáculos naturais investindo na manutenção da vegetação nativa. PALAVRAS-CHAVE:Mineração. Ruído Ambiental. Segurança do Trabalho. Данные постурографии свидетельствуют о трудностях постурального контроля при множественных сенсорных стимулах у пациентов с ПППД, что указывает на нарушение адаптивных реакций системы поддержания равновесия у данной категории больных [24]. Программы реабилитации на стабилографической платформе с БОС включают в себя упражнения на габитуацию и адаптацию.…”

The cause of persistent postural-perceptual dizziness (PPPD) is considered to be chronic dysfunction of the regulatory system for maintaining equilibrium in general and that of the vestibular system in particular, which causes a persistent sensation of dizziness and/or unsteadiness. The pathogenetic mechanisms of PPPD are associated with impaired adaptation to an acute vertigo or unsteadiness episode due to various causes (vestibular, lipothymic, or emotional). Patients severely experience PPPD, which often leads to avoidant behavior and even disability. The timely diagnosis of this disorder and the use of right treatment, including vestibular rehabilitation, antidepressants, and cognitive behavioral therapy, are of great importance. Currently developed new treatments for PPPD are highly therapeutically effective. Among the medicines, Ginkgo biloba extract has been shown to be effective in improving vestibular compensation.
