Abstract: We determined the in vivo counteracting effect of fiber and probiotic supplementation on colonic mucosal damage and alterations in gut microbiota caused by 2-amino-1-methyl-6-phenylimidazo [4,5-b] pyridine (PhIP) and sodium dextran sulfate (DSS).
