Potential of field turbidity measurements for computation of total suspended solid in Tasik Kenyir, Terengganu, Malaysia

Abstract: The urbanization has significant effects on watershed hydrology and the quality of water in this catchment. One component of water quality is total suspended solids (TSS) which a significant part of physical and degradation and a good indicator of other pollutants on the surface of sediment in suspension. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether turbidity could produce a satisfactory estimate of TSS in urbanizing at the Tasik Kenyir. TSS and Turbidity were analyzed based on in-situ and ex-situ analy… Show more

“…Furthermore, this area is an industrial sector region that is experiencing an increase in industrial areas through land reclamation. This uncontrolled development project caused problems such as sediment deposition, and this result is also consistent with what has been observed in the same area (Kamarudin et al, 2020). Then, VF3 contributed 10.08% of the total variance, with positive values strongly weighted against E. coli and Coliform.…”

“…Statistics is a branch of data modelling and analytical studies. Statistics are deemed to be the best approach to have in order to avoid misinterpretation of large, complex environmental monitoring data like those used in this study [ [67] , [68] , [69] , [70] ]. Statistical techniques are also being used to explore the data analysis tools for the classification of samples or sampling stations and the identification of pollution sources [ 71 ].…”

“…The goal of implementing water and solid waste management is to decrease the production of waste. In the context of practical implementation for managing food waste on the university campus, the waste disposal system on campus can convert food leftovers into compost, consequently diminishing the volume of waste sent to landfills (Kamarudin et al, 2020;Anthony Jnr, 2021). It is essential to address the management of wastes produced during university campus operations by integrating waste recycling.…”
