Pouchitis After Ileal Pouch-Anal Anastomosis for Ulcerative Colitis

Abstract: Pouchitis is a most frequent complication in patients with ileal pouch, it occurs at least 50% of them once in a lifetime. However, pouchitis can be treated fast and effectively. Twenty per cent of patients with chronic pouchitis have unfavourable prognosis because of antibiotic resistance and antibiotic dependence.
