Power analysis attack resilient block cipher implementation based on 1‐of‐4 data encoding

Abstract: Side‐channel attacks pose an inevitable challenge to the implementation of cryptographic algorithms, and it is important to mitigate them. This work identifies a novel data encoding technique based on 1‐of‐4 codes to resist differential power analysis attacks, which is the most investigated category of side‐channel attacks. The four code words of the 1‐of‐4 codes, namely (0001, 0010, 1000, and 0100), are split into two sets: set‐0 and set‐1. Using a select signal, the data processed in hardware is switched bet… Show more

“…To directly implement AES-128 encryption, the authors make use of the XMEGA128 microcontroller. Additionally, they use CNN and MLP models to carry out power analysis attacks [19] To break the masked AES using the MLP-based DDLA, the authors do not need to split the attack phases or do any preprocessing. As a result, they were able to confirm that the secret key of masked AES may be used to produce an accuracy of 81.0% with MLP and 75.4% with CNN.…”

“…The load demand helped solve the growth of which depended heavily on the shrinkage of a base station. Thus, it concluded a more exact energy demand prediction model was necessary to differentiate static elements from movements suggested by Shanmugham et al [12]. Complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor integrated circuit (CMOS IC) offered an overview of power loss through a correct power analytical technique, enabling programmers and integrated circuit (IC) architects to produce better resource-accurate alternatives.…”
