Abstract: <p>Michel Foucault's notions of power and resistance are evocative as one attempt to explain the hitherto unexplained meaning of women's subjugation and resistance as represented in the patriarchal society in Toni Morrison's <em>Sula</em> and <em>Paradise</em>.
