Power Consumption Influence Test of Castor Disc-Cutting Device

Abstract: This study theoretically analyzed the cutting process of castor and determined the structural parameters of the key component of the castor disc-cutting device, aiming to obtain the optimal operation parameter combination and reduce the cutting resistance and power consumption during the harvesting process. The effects of the cutting-disc thickness, cutting-disc rotational speed, feeding speed, and edge angle on the cutting power consumption were studied using an orthogonal rotation combination experiment. The… Show more

“…To reduce cutting energy consumption and damage rate of poplar branches, based on the results of the single-factor cutting performance test, the response surface method (RSM) [28][29][30] was used to design the quadratic regression orthogonal rotation combination design test. The influence of cutting speed D, tool edge angle E, and tool back angle F on the cutting of poplar branches was further studied.…”

“…In order to verify the feasibility of the optimization results, experiments were carried out according to the predicted values, and the RRRF and the IRF were calculated according to formulas (17) and (18) [32,33]. Considering the feasibility of the test, the operation parameters were rounded and optimized, and the test was repeated three times with the forward speed of 5 km/h, rotating speed of the FCCH of 235 r/min, and rotating speed of the centrifugal fan of 1980 r/min, and the average value was taken as the test result (see Table 4).…”
