“…Based on the metabolism of prazepam, hydroxylation most likely occurs at the 3‐position of the molecule, leading to 3‐hydroxycloniprazepam and to 3‐hydroxyclonazepam. Based on the metabolism of prazepam, the second hydroxylated clonazepam derivative is most likely 4′‐hydroxyclonazepam, and it can be assumed that it is not formed in humans to a significant extent . Formation of clonazepam and its metabolite 7‐aminoclonazepam is particularly important for the interpretation of analytical findings, as detection of these compounds might be misinterpreted as resulting from clonazepam intake.…”
