Pre-harvest Desiccation: Productivity and Physical and Physiological Inferences on Soybean Seeds During Storage

Abstract: The objective of this research is to define which soybean phenological stage is adequate to promote pre-harvest desiccation and to measure the effects of this procedure on the physical and physiological attributes of soybean seeds throughout storage. The experiment was carried out at Fazenda Santa Bárbara da Boa Vista located in the municipality of Cabeceiras, Goiás, Brazil. The experimental design was the randomized blocks arranged in a factorial scheme being five phenological stages of soybean development wh… Show more

“…These groups act with different modes of action, distinct sites of action in pathogens, improve disease control and maintain the photosynthetic area of plants over time. Carboxamide is a specific site fungicide that acts on the inhibition of the enzyme Succinate dehydrogenase, this new chemical group showed better results than the other chemical groups in the control of Phakopsorapachyrhizi (Embrapa, 2014;Zanatta et al, 2018;Aisenberg et al, 2018). Dithiocarbamates are multi-site fungicides that act on several processes vital to pathogens, being an excellent tool to increase the efficiency of systemic fungicides and disease management (Silva, 2015;.…”

“…This practice is based on the application of chemical products as insecticides, fungicides, growth regulators or micronutrients in seeds in periods that precede the seedling Kavalco et al, 2017). Besides the seeds protection offered by the product, studies indicate that may occur an increase in the velocity of seedlings emergence (Almeida et al, 2013;Dellagostin et al, 2016;Zanatta et al, 2018).…”

“…This species has uneven flowering, resulting in plants with tegument of seeds ranging from yellow to brown-red colour, because of the different ripening stages of seeds at harvest (Costa et al, 2014). After physiological maturity, photoassimilates from mother plant stop been sent to seeds; and the longer the time that seeds remain in field, will be more exposed to environment adversities, risking physiological quality losses (Szareski et al, 2017;Troyjack et al, 2018;Zanatta et al, 2018).…”
