Preclinical assessment of dopaminergic system in rats by MicroPET using three positron-emitting radiopharmaceuticals

Abstract: Abstract. Different diseases associated with dysfunction of dopaminergic system such as Parkinson, Alzheimer, and Schizophrenia are being widely studied with positron emission tomography (PET) which is a noninvasive method useful to assess the stage of these illnesses. In our facility we have recently implemented the production of [11 C]-DTBZ, [ 11 C]-RAC, and [18 F]-FDOPA, which are among the most common PET radiopharmaceuticals used in neurology applications to get information about the dopamine pathways.
