Abstract: Snakebite envenomation is a major health concern in developing countries causing significant mortality and morbidity. With over 1.2 million cases annually caused by medically important snake species belonging to the two families Viperidae (Echis spp. and Bitis spp.) and Elapidae (Naja spp. and Dendroaspis spp.).
