“…This is because the TTM is a helical process with the capacity for repeated entrance and regression rather than a process with unidirectional progression. Among the TTM constructs, the intention to quit smoking before quitting has been suggested to be a predictor of whether the smoker will participate in a smoking cessation program, attempt to quit smoking and succeed in quitting [ 14 , 16 , 17 ]. Therefore, when developing various quitting-smoking programs, developed countries have conducted studies on socio-demographic and smoking-related factors that affect participants’ intentions, attempts and successes when quitting smoking [ 15 , 18 ].…”

“…Many researchers have used this model to investigate behavioral changes and develop prevention programs in diverse fields such as eating habits (Kwon, 2007), breast cancer examinations (Chang, Park, Park, & Lim, 2000;Rakowski, Dube, & Goldstein, 1996), prescription adaptations (Fawcett, 1995), birth control, AIDS prevention (Bowen & Trotter, 1995), condom use (Pamela, Colleen, Leigh, & Beryl, 2000;Stark et al, 1998), smoking cessation (Ahn, Yeun, Kwon, Chung, & Ryu, 2005), exercise behavior (M. S. Seo, Kim, & Han, 2003), and health promotion (H. K. . However, there are few studies that have examined Korean college students' sexual behavior and existing studies have been exploratory rather than theory based.…”
