Predictive Map of Geoelectric Sections of North and South America

Abstract: Predictive maps of geoelectric sections (GES) of North and South America are constructed. The GES maps are capable of increasing the accuracy of electromagnetic field calculations in the VLF−LF−MF ranges of radio waves by 1.5-3 times as compared to the Morgan-Maxwell map. The studies of electrical properties of layered media by combined radio and geophysical methods in a variety of natural and geological conditions, and the proposed method of GES mapping have resulted in the construction of a new generation of… Show more

“…We note the wide distribution of such structures not only for beaches on all oceans and seas of the Earth, but also in other regions. Therefore, such structures are typical for large areas of the earth's surface and must be taken into account when calculating the excitation and propagation of radio waves, as well as coastal refraction of the "land-sea" type in radio systems [3,4,[14][15][16][17].…”

“…To improve the accuracy of calculations of the electromagnetic field for layered structures, the frequency dependences of the surface impedance of the multilayer medium of Palestine and Tanzania were determined in the range of 10 kHz-30 MHz, which are necessary for calculating the function of field attenuation of radio waves. [3,4,[13][14][15][16] exceeds unity when the emitter and the observation point are located at the interface [3,4,[13][14][15][16][17]. We use a layered model of the underlying medium to calculate the propagation of LF-MF-HF radio waves along the earth's surface.…”
