Abstract:BackgroundNeonatal encephalopathy, abnormal neurological function in a baby born at term is a key cause of neonatal death. In the absence of adequate training and brain imaging or monitoring in low-resource settings, clinical risk scores, such as Thompson score, have been useful to predict risk of neonatal encephalopathy.
