“…As already pointed out, most of the MIPs in this study had a high QOL and symptom severity of only class I (28.5 %) or class II (33%) of the CCSC, which their low symptom severity resulted in a high QOL and reduced readmission rate. This result supported previous studies that low symptom severity was linked to delayed readmission (Kwok et al, 2018) and an increased QOL (Kang et al, 2018) among acute MIPs. Likewise, the symptom severity, such as physical symptoms and limitations in daily activities due to heart failure, affected the QOL (Heo et al, 2009).…”

“…For the purpose of this study, the Korean version of the MacNew was employed following the procedure described by Guillemin et al (1993), and only the total score of the Korean MacNew was used for this study. The psychometric properties of this Korean version are presented in a separate study (Kang et al, 2018). The alpha coefficient for the 27 items of the Korean MacNew was 0.90.…”

“…This is also in line with a finding of a study conducted in Brazil, in which the highest scores of HRQoL were seen in the social functioning domain. This could be that the participants might have opportunities for social life [24]. According to this study, age has an inverse relation with overall HRQoL.…”

“…Due to the devastating consequences of MI, patients report fear of another cardiac event, reduced energy levels, and an inability to carry on their normal roles [21][22][23]. Understanding those factors that contribute to HRQoL post-MI, particularly modifiable factors, can open a window of opportunity to improve the recovery and disease outcomes of MI patients [24,25]. Measuring HRQoL will assist in monitoring treatment guidelines and improving patients' HRQoL.…”
