“…It is well documented that cancer patients experience considerable psychological distress and physical pain associated with the disease and its treatment. 28 , 29 This may be attributed to illness burden and it is then plausible that after a very long period of pain, stress and mental torture, the emotional support received from indigenous palliative care provider improves their self-esteem, reduce feelings of uncertainty, and, contributes to improved quality of life resulting in satisfaction. The finding is consistent with previous research which stated that patients with a long history of chronic illnesses report higher overall satisfaction.…”
