Predictors of prenatal care satisfaction among pregnant women in American Samoa

Abstract: BackgroundPregnant women in American Samoa have a high risk of complications due to overweight and obesity. Prenatal care can mitigate the risk, however many women do not seek adequate care during pregnancy. Low utilization of prenatal care may stem from low levels of satisfaction with services offered. “…wanita membutuhkan dukungan selama kehamilan, informasi mengenai kehamilan, jalur perawatan kehamilan dan skrining (Hatherall et al, 2016) Menurut penelitian ditemukan bahwa kepuasan keseluruhan dengan layanan perawatan antenatal pada populasi penelitian adalah 60,4% (Ejigu et al, 2013) didukung dengan temuan sebuah penelitian yang dilakukan di Nigeria (90%) ibu puas dengan layanan perawatan. Sebagian besar wanita merasa puas dengan kualitas pelayanan antenatal yang mereka terima dan akan direkomendasikan (Adeyinka et al, 2017;Chemir et al, 2014;Nwaeze et al, 2013) dan kemungkinan lebih besar menerima cukup prenatal care (Liu, Chao, Jostad-laswell, & Duncan, 2017) Berbeda hal nya dengan penelitian di Ethiopia hampir setengah (47,7%) ibu hamil tidak puas dengan pelayanan yang diberikan (Ejigu et al, 2013) . Perbedaan bisa disebabkan oleh sifat subjektif dari materi pelajaran karena ukuran kepuasan kebutuhan standar dan alat untuk pengukuran yang akurat tetapi sebagian literatur mengukur kepuasan dengan sederhana ya/tidak kategori respon, ibu hamil enggan untuk mengkritik (Hildingsson et al, 2013).…”
