Predischarge transthoracic echocardiogram after TAVI – Is it really necessary?

Abstract: Key Points Predischarge TTE after an uncomplicated TAVI procedure may not be necessary as long as an adequate intraprocedural echocardiogram and predischarge clinical assessment are performed. With the adoption of the newer TAVI platforms, which carries lower rates of paravalvular leak, the elimination of predischarge TTE in appropriately selected patients is reasonable and may be cost‐saving.
