“…Activation of the TLR4-MyD88-NF-κB signalling pathway can significantly increase the expression of IL-6 and CCL17 and significantly decrease the expression of TGF-β, resulting in the increase of Th17 cells and the decrease of Treg cells ( 70 ). Studies have found that inhibiting the activation of Notch signalling pathway can effectively reduce the response of Th17 cells, down-regulate the expression of Notch1, DLL4, IL-17 and the transcription of ROR γt, reduce the level of Th17 cells, downregulate Notch1, DLL4, and IL-17 expressions and ROR γt transcription, reduce the level of Th17 cells, and effectively restore the balance of Th17/Treg ( 71 , 72 ). In addition, inhibiting the expression of p-STAT3 in the IL-6/JAK/STAT3 signalling pathway can significantly inhibit the differentiation of CD4+T cells into Th17 cells, downregulate the secretion of IL-17A, and effectively regulate the balance between Th17 and Treg cells ( 73 ).…”

“…Immune active substances with HLA to T helper cells will stimulate T cell to activate, leading to differentiation into Th2, Th1, Th17, and Treg cells ( 75 , 160 162 ). Th2 cells as control factors of Th1 cells, secretion of IL - 4 and anti-inflammatory factors such as IL - 10, and suppress Th1 tissue damage caused by hyperactivity ( 161 , 163 ). Th1 cells produce IFN-γ and IL-2, which are subject to regulation by other cytokines, such as IL-17 and IL-10 ( 164 ).…”

“…1 b). In uveitis, research studies have detected the co-existence of initiators of the classic activation and the alternative activation of microglia in the aqueous humor of clinical patients and in the retina of experimental uveitis animal models [ 25 27 ], which suggests the possibility of microglial M1/M2 differentiation during the pathology of uveitis.…”
