Pregnancy-related Acute Kidney Injury

Abstract: Aim: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a rapid loss of kidney function. The proposed diagnostic criterion for AKI is an abrupt (within 48 hours) reduction in kidney function defined as an absolute increase in serum creatinine (level of >0.3 mg/dL) or a percentage increase in serum creatinine level of more than 50% (1.5 fold from baseline) or reduction in urine output (documented oliguria of less than 0.5 mL/kg per hour for more than 6 hours).
