Abstract: Adolescent intermittent ethanol (AIE) exposure in rats leads to social deficits. Parvalbumin (PV) expressing interneurons in the prelimbic cortex (PrL) contribute to social behavior, and perineuronal nets (PNNs) within the PrL preferentially encompass PV interneurons, acting as significant regulators of these cells.
