Preliminary comparative assessment and elements of equivalence of air pollution measurement results of portable monitoring stations with using stochastic models

Abstract: Abstract. This article is an attempt to assess the suitability of new nonreference mobile measuring devices for the analysis of PM10 concentrations. The aim is to compare the concentration daily values measured by these devices with the concentrations obtained by the reference device. It also examines the possibility of building models that correct these values to equivalent reference values. The analysis allows to conclude that the properties of the obtained measurements indicate a good chance of constructing… Show more

“…The design of the devices ensures their high mobility and measurement of pollutant concentrations virtually anywhere. This device, like many others, has already been described many times, and the results of its measurements have been analyzed in many aspects [10][11][12][13]16,17,21].…”

“…This allows the installation of measuring devices in places where up till now it has been impossible to monitor air quality. Measuring devices are being installed in streets, schools, public buildings, housing estates, and industrial plants, wherever information about the state of pollution is expected [1,[12][13][14].…”

“…Based on this training set, research is also being carried out to prove the equivalence (or conditions necessary to meet them) of measurements made using the low-cost PM sensors in relation to the reference methods. The results are presented in [23,29].…”

“…Critical issues faced by researchers are mostly correction methods [ 11 , 12 ] and the long-term stability of the sensors [ 13 ]. To characterize interferences and improve correction functions, both laboratory and ambient tests were conducted [ 14 , 15 , 16 , 17 , 18 ].…”
