Preliminary evaluation of SaCoVLM™ video laryngeal mask airway in airway management for general anesthesia

Abstract: Background To preliminary evaluate the application of SaCoVLM™ video laryngeal mask airway in airway management of general anesthesia. Methods We recruited 100 adult patients (ages 18–78 years, male 19, female 81, weight 48–90 kg) with normal predicted airway (Mallampati I ~ II, unrestricted mouth opening, normal head and neck mobility) and ASA I-II who required general anaesthesia. The SaCoVLM™ was inserted after anesthesia induction and connected… Show more

“…The rst-attempt success rate of SaCoVLM insertion was 92.7% (95%CI = 1.03-1.13)in children ,which con rms that the success rate of devices insertion is lower than that in adults with normal airway [13][14], This may be due to the anatomical differences in children with microtia, which may existing a narrow laryngeal space .After manual adjustment 15 and reinsertion, the nal success rate of device insertion can reach 100%.…”

“…[28][29][30][31] The SaCoVLM has shown advantages in clinical applications since its creation in 2018. 32 The SaCoVLM is comparable in price with a common LMA and can easily be clinically promoted, allowing visualisation of the conditions around the glottis and thus achieving rapid and accurate insertion. Additionally, the operator can visualise the passage of the tracheal tube through the glottis during intubation.…”
