Abstract: Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) is a severe and disabling form of premenstrual syndrome that affects an average of 5% of women during their period. Studies show that the intense symptoms present during PMDD involve multiple factors, from genetic, ovarian or uterine, hormonal, neurological and psychological causes.
