Preoperative Fasting Guidelines in Children: Should They Be Revised?

Abstract: Children presenting with ingestion of foreign bodies need gastroscopy as a primary management modality. A controversy lies regarding guidelines for preoperative fasting among children with low risk of aspiration and intraoperative complications.
