Abstract: Background: Serum alkaline phosphatase (ALP) is related to vascular calcification. In a recent study on percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with a drug-eluting stent, higher ALP was associated with poor clinical outcomes in terms of mortality, myocardial infarction, and stent thrombosis.
