Preparation and anti-oxidation performance of Al2O3-containing TaSi2–MoSi2–borosilicate glass coating on porous SiCO ceramic composites for thermal protection

Abstract: Al2O3 improves the oxidation resistance of TaSi2–MoSi2–borosilicate glass coating through increasing the viscosity and inhibiting gas penetration into matrix at high temperature, thus prevents porous SiCO ceramic composites from being oxidized.

“…Finally, the peak at 1732 cm –1 is assigned as CO group confirming that the sample of raw LCD panel has some organic contents. After the treatment, this peak is totally disappeared at second spectra, confirming the obtained material has no plastic contents and can be used as a proper substrate for catalyst synthesis. , …”

“…The small peak at 586 cm À1 signifies Si-O-Si bending vibrations, and another minor peak at 680 cm À1 is observed due to the bending vibrations of oxygen bridging (-B-O) in trigonal BO 3 groups. 34,35 The peak at 774 cm À1 suggests symmetric stretching vibration of [O-Si-O] bonds, and the broad peak at 836 cm À1 corresponds to bridging oxygen vibration of [BO 4 ] units along with stretching of [Si-O-B] groups. 36 The band from 1080 to 1205 cm À1 signifies stretching of di-, tri-, tetra-, and pentaborate groups of BO 3 and BO 4 along with [Si-O-Si] bond stretching.…”

“…The bending vibration peak of BO3 and anti-symmetric stretching vibration peak of BO3 appears in absorption peaks close to 725.35 cm -1 and 1450.35 cm -1 are, respectively [42]. Theoretically, when a little amount of Al2O3 was added to borosilicate glass, Al 3+ has priority to draw in free oxygen to form [AlO4], gaining access to the SiO2 structure to produce the more stable structure [42]. Furthermore, because of the lack of oxygen, basically exists as [BO3] rather than [BO4].…”

“…The absorption peak close to 1187.26 cm -1 is the bending vibration peak of Si-O-Si, this synchronizes with the stretching vibration peak of BO4 (antisymmetric).
