Preparation and antimicrobial assay of ceramic brackets coated with TiO2thin films

Abstract: ObjectiveDifferent methods have been utilized to prevent enamel demineralization and other complications during orthodontic treatment. However, none of these methods can offer long-lasting and effective prevention of orthodontic complications or interventions after complications occur. Considering the photocatalytic effect of TiO2 on organic compounds, we hoped to synthesize a novel bracket with a TiO2 thin film to develop a photocatalytic antimicrobial effect.MethodsThe sol-gel dip coating method was used to … Show more

“…The exact expression of this field is still unknown. At least in the single-chain slip-spring model, the velocity of the TR slip-link drift is found to increase with time in an exponential form when approaching the arm-end,63 which can also be seen in the simulation results of the simplified single-chain model with bimodal CR spectrum (triangles) inFig. 11.…”

“…The most frequently isolated bacteria from the human oral cavity are the following strains: Lactobacillus acidophilus, Porphyromonas gingivalis, Aggregatibacter actinomycetemco-mitans and yeast Candida albicans [ 11 , 40 , 67 , 69 , 71 , 79 , 80 ]. Numerous investments have been carried out to create an antibacterial orthodontic adhesive system to protect the enamel demineralization at the junction.…”
