Preparation and Application of Immobilized Surfactant-Modified PANi-CNT/TiO2 under Visible-Light Irradiation

Abstract: Hydrothermally and sol-gel-synthesized immobilized surfactant-modified polyaniline-carbon nanotubes/TiO2 (PANi-CNT/TiO2) photocatalysts were prepared and their application in the degradation of diethyl phthalate (DEP) under visible light at 410 nm was investigated in this sturdy. To improve the dispersion of nanoparticles and the transfer of electrons, the TiO2 surface was modified with both sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and functionalized carbon nanotubes (CNT-COOH and CNT-COCl). With the addition of PANi, whi… Show more

“…The strong absorption band at 1259 cm –1 is attributed to the vibration mode of – Si–C stretching. The functional groups of Ti–OH were found at 1598 cm –1 . Absorption bands at 2966 cm –1 are attributed to the vibration mode of C–H stretching.…”

“…47 This mixture was homogenised in a sonication water bath for 1 h followed by heating and stirring Table 1. Summary of literature regarding polymer supported immobilised photocatalysts 1,4,5,13,20,[35][36][37][38] Number for 2 h at 120 ∘ C after which the resulting solution thickens. This solution was cast in a glass tray of 28 cm × 33 cm and kept in the fume hood for solvent evaporation for 24 h. The resulting film was washed multiple times with distilled water to remove any surface impurities and then dried in a standard laboratory oven for 24 h at 50 ∘ C. The same procedure was used to prepare polymer films with different catalyst loadings from 2 to 16 wt%.…”

“…However, as revealed in Figure B, no distinct peaks were found in the CNT spectrum at 500 to 4000 cm −1 . There were several peaks (OH, CH, CO, CC, and CO) from the spectrum of ZnO‐CNT to TiO 2 ‐CNT, with the peaks at 1300 cm −1 (TiOH) and 550 cm −1 (TiOTi) …”
