Preparation and characterization of 2-hydroxyethyl starch microparticles for co-delivery of multiple bioactive agents

Abstract: The present study reports the generation of 2-hydroxyethyl starch microparticles for co-delivery and controlled release of multiple agents. The obtained microparticles are characterized by using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray diffraction analysis, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. By using ofloxacin and ketoprofen as drug models, the release sustainability of the microparticles is examined at pH 1.2, 5.4, and 6.8 at 37 C, … Show more

“…Values of calculated solubility of compounds ranging from -3.08 to -3.89 indicating moderate solubility of compounds, and also calculated Log P indicated between 1.29 and 3.26. Moreover, molecular weight was more than 500 Dalton, number of hydrogen bond donors were more than 5, while number of H-acceptors of compound 5 and 6 exhibited violation of Lipinski rule and others obey Lipinski rule ( Obireddy and Lai, 2021 , Andalib and Sarkar, 2021 , Andalib and Sarkar, 2022 , Alibak et al, 2022 , Pelalak and Heidari, 2014 ).…”

“…It provides monitoring indicators for the rapid postoperative recovery and sleep quality evaluation of follow-up clinical HICH patients and has a high reference value for the follow-up improvement of patient diagnosis and treatment mechanism. But the conclusion remains to be demonstrated for HICH patients' sleep quality and oxidative stress index correlation analysis, yet other scholars have the same idea, so this research result is difficult to have good persuasive, and this study also has certain deficiencies, such as the study sample size being small, the results may appear biased [ 24 , 25 ]. Therefore, a larger sample size is needed for further research.…”

“…The development of nanotechnology-based formulations (i.e., nanoparticles) provides an effective way to solve the above-mentioned problem associated with chemotherapeutic drugs [ 15 , 16 ]. Encapsulation of chemotherapeutic drugs in the nanoparticles offers several advantages over conventional formulations.…”
