Preparation and characterization of Cu (II) supported on poly(8‐hydroxyquinoline‐p‐styrene sulphonate) and its application as catalyst for the synthesis of hexahydroquinolines

Abstract: Cu (II) supported on poly(8‐hydroxyquinoline‐p‐styrenesulfonate) (Cu (II)@PHQSS) was prepared and fully characterized by the different techniques including fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT‐IR), 1H NMR, 13C NMR, thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), differential thermal gravimetric (DTG), differential thermal analysis (DTA), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive X‐ray analysis (EDS). Afterward, the Cu (II)@PHQSS as nanostructured catalyst was used as catalyst for the synthesis of hex… Show more

“…Preventing the loss of energy, materials and solvent are some other advantages of this protocol. [6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13] Multi-component synthesis of 4H-pyrimido[2,1-b]benzazoles was reported using various catalysis such as, nano-[Co-4CSP] Cl 2 , 5 iron uoride, 14 Fe 3 O 4 @nano-cellulose/TiCl, 15 chitosan, 16 nano-Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 -TiCl 3 , 17 H 3 PO 4 -Al 2 O 3 , 18 nano-TiCl 2 /cellulose, 19 acetic acid, 20 TMGT, 21 1,3-disulfonic acid imidazolium triuoroacetate, 22 [bmim]BF 4 , 23 GO@PSA-Cu 24 and poly (vinylpyrrolidonium) perchlorate. 25 Due to importance of 4H-pyrimido[2,1-b]benzimidazoles, the nd of the more efficient method for the preparation of these signicant compounds are still needed.…”

“…[35][36][37] Because of the increasing concern of the harmful effects of organic solvents on the environment and human body, organic reactions that are operated with green solvents or without conventional organic solvents have aroused the attention of organic and medicinal chemists. [38][39][40][41] In the past decade, interest in solvent-free MCRs has expanded and it now encompasses wide areas of the chemical enterprise. [20,21,[42][43][44] For reasons of economy and pollution prevention, solvent-free methods are used to modernize classical procedures by making them cleaner, safer and easier to perform.…”

“…The chemistry of quinazolines and quinazolinones have been comprehinslvly reviewed by Guiry and coworkers . In continuation of our previous investigation on designing and synthesis of novel nano molten salts,,,, target molecules such as quinazolinones, acridines and dihydropyridines,,, herein we wish to report 1,10‐phenanthroline‐based molten salt as a novel bifunctional sulfonic acid [Phen(SO 3 H) 2 ]Cl 2 with unique property, high catalytic ability and selectivity in the synthesis of a good range of N ‐heterocyclic compound under mild and green conditions (Scheme ).…”
