“…The dipole-dipole interaction of polymer chains was reduced when glycerin was added, because it softens the polymer chain's backbone and lowers the polymer's Tg. The same pattern was found by Abdulkadir et al, 2020 [17].…”

“…The GPEs were created by injecting conducting salt (CuSO 4 ) into the polymer host (PVA) and plasticizing it with glycerin, as described in the experimental section. PVA and glycerin with hydroxyl or polar groups (-OH) produced a covalent dative bond with the CuSO 4 cations in the electrolytes [17,18]. This is because polymer materials (PVA) and plasticizers (glycerin) have -OH groups in their macromolecular chains and three-dimensional networks that can react with various inorganic salts [19,20].…”

“…The C dl was joined in parallel with charge transfer resistance (R ct ) and a capacitance that were incorporated in series in order to evaluate the contribution of pseudocapacitance [ 10 ]. Thus, the results established that the successful incorporation of K 2 CO 3 and SiO 2 into the polymer increase ion diffusion in the electrolyte system and therefore support adsorption of ions at the electrode-electrolyte interface, which leads to the increase in ionic conductivity [ 23 ]. The resistance R ct signifies charge transfer resistance of the CPEs on the charge absorption across the electrode/electrolyte interfaces.…”

“…For the preparation of the non-filler CPEs, a fixed ratio of PVA and K 2 CO 3 (70:30) was added into 20 mL of deionized water in a glass beaker. The two solutions were mixed and heated at 80 °C with continuous vigorous stirring using thermostat until the two solutions were completely dissolved to form a composite of PVA-K 2 CO 3 as reported in our previous study [ 23 ]. For the preparation of CPEs containing filler, an appropriate amount of SiO 2 was added to the prepared PVA-K 2 CO 3 composites, heated at 80 °C continuously with vigorous stirring until homogeneous, clear, and viscous solution were obtained.…”
