On the basis of human vision, the structural colors can be divided into two classes: iridescence and noniridescence. , The iridescent structural color is typically angle-dependent from periodic nano- and microstructures, although its color appears considerably brighter than those of dyes and pigments, which could limit its applications in displays, optical devices, and sensors, which require broad viewing angles. Noniridescence comes from amorphous colloidal nanoparticles, which are short-range ordered but long-range amorphous.
