Preparation and Characterization of Protein Molecularly Imprinted Poly (Ionic Liquid)/Calcium Alginate Composite Cryogel Membrane with High Mechanical Strength for the Separation of Bovine Serum Albumin

Abstract: In order to improve the mechanical strength and imprinting efficiency, a novel bovine serum albumin (BSA) molecularly imprinted poly(ionic liquid)/calcium alginate composite cryogel membrane (MICM) was prepared. The results of the tensile test indicated that the MICM had excellent mechanical strength which could reach up to 90.00 KPa, 30.30 times higher than the poly (ionic liquid) membrane without calcium alginate; the elongation of it could reach up to 93.70%, 8.28 times higher than the poly (ionic liquid) m… Show more

“…Then, the pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order kinetic models are applied to investigate the controlling mechanism of the binding process (Table , eqs S3 and S4). , In general, the pseudo-first-order model supposes that the adsorption process is based on physical adsorption, whereas the pseudo-second-order model assumes that the adsorption rate is governed by chemical adsorption . According to the correlation coefficient ( R 2 ) value, the pseudo-second-order kinetic model better fits the binding process of EIMS for Cyt c , demonstrating that Cyt c can complementally match the imprinted sites via multiple interactions to achieve fast, efficient, and accurate adsorption.…”

“…to form the host-guest complex; addition of a crosslinker and initiation through certain initiation methods (e.g., initiator, thermal initiation, photoinitiation, etc.) to produce a highly cross-linked polymer; the template molecules are removed through appropriate means to obtain MIPs with the conformationally predetermined and specific recognition of the template molecules [17][18][19][20]. MIPs have been widely used in sample pre-treatment, chromatographic separations, sensors, etc.…”
