A category of highly capacitive N-doped carbon skeleton material (NCS) containing abundant carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is synthesized by a two-step pyrolysis method using the flower-cluster-shaped humate-Ni-BTC (HA-Ni-BTC) template and melamine particles together as precursors. As the HA-Ni-BTC/melamine mass ratio is 1:3 and the pyrolysis temperature is 700 °C, the prepared optimal NCS-700 has plentiful CNTs and graphene layers; abundant mesopores possessing a mean pore diameter of 6.1 nm; a large surface area of 296.5 m2/g; applicable nitrogen doping forms mainly containing pyrrolic N, pyridinic N, and graphitic N; and an appropriate nitrogen doping dosage of 11.8 wt %. In the field of energy storage, the NCS-700 electrode appears to have a preferable charge-transfer resistance, internal resistance, and positive capacitance performances. In particular, the NCS-700 has an excellent specific capacitance of 357 F g–1 at 0.5 A g–1, high rate capability, and good cycle stationarity because of a capacitance residual of 94.5% at 5 A g–1 after 10 000 cycles. The assembled NCS-700//AC asymmetric supercapacitor also exhibits a desirable specific capacitance (123 F g–1 at 1 A g–1), good cycle stationarity (94.8% capacity after 10 000 cycles), and high specific energy (12.3 W h kg–1 even at 300 W kg–1). Hence, the obtained NCS is a promising highly capacitive and low-energy-loss electrode material for supercapacitors.

Metal-organic frameworks are compounds with a reticulated skeletal structure formed by chemically bonding inorganic and organic units that are widely used in many fields, such as photocatalysis, gas separation and energy storage, because of their unique structures. In this paper, we prepared a metal-organic framework [(μ 2 -2-methylimidazolyl) 12 -Zn(ii) 6 -H 18 O 10 ] n (ZM) with well-developed pores and high specific surface area of MOFs by the solution method. And MOF-derived porous carbon was prepared by the direct charring method in an argon atmosphere using a mixture of ZM, ZM and potassium citrate as carbon precursors. Characterization analysis revealed that the maximum specific surface area of ZMPC-800-1:15 was 2014.97 m 2 •g −1 , and the pore size structure was mainly mesoporous. At a current density of 1.0 A•g −1 the specific capacitance of ZMC-800 and ZMPC-800-1:15 was 121.3 F•g −1 and 226.6 F•g −1 , respectively, with a substantial increase of 86.8%. The specific capacitance of ZMPC-800-1:15 decays to 168.8 F•g −1 , with a decay rate of 25.5%, when the current density increases to 10.0 A•g −1 . After 5000 constant current charge/ discharge cycles, the capacitance retention rate was still 96.41%. These results prove that the application of MOF-derived carbon materials in future supercapacitors is very promising.

Metal−organic frameworks (MOFs)-derived nanocomposite has attracted extensive attention due to its tunable nanoscale cavities and high chemical tailorability. Herein, with the aim of developing a sensitive electrochemical sensor for pnitrophenol, a novel MOFs-derived nanocomposite was prepared by the solvothermal method using Zr-MOFs, thiourea, and sodium molybdate as raw materials. By controlling the growth mode and reaction time, the nanohybrids displayed a superstructure composed of MOFs-derived carbon (MOFs-C) and MoS 2 . Scanning electron microscopy images indicated that MOFs-C/MoS 2 was a flower-like porous sphere. Transmission electron microscopic images showed that the MOFs-C/MoS 2 had a unique arrow targetlike structure. The porous structure held great promise for the fast mass transfer into the material, while the layer-by-layer distributed carbon and MoS 2 provided a great structure for the synergistic catalysis. The electrochemical oxidation of (hydroxyamino)phenol to nitrosophenol, which is an important process for the electrochemical behavior of p-nitrophenol, can be selectively catalyzed by the MOFs-C/MoS 2 . Therefore, the electrochemical sensor based on the MOFs-C/MoS 2 material exhibited excellent analytical performance in the determination of p-nitrophenol. Using the technique of square wave voltammetry, the peak current varied quantitatively with the presence of p-nitrophenol in the wide concentration range of 0.5−500 μM. Furthermore, the electrochemical sensor exhibited good practicability in real sample analysis.
