Preparation and Investigations of Ni_{0.2}Zn_{0.8}Fe_2O_4 Ferrite Nanofiber Membranes by Needleless Electrospinning Method

Abstract: The preparation of Ni0.2Zn0.8Fe2O4 nanofiber membranes by simple and versatile needleless electrospinning technique is presented. The single phase of spinel ferrite membrane was obtained after conventional thermal treatment of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/metal nitrate precursors at 800• C for 4 h in air. The formation of singlephase fibers was characterized using differential scanning calorimetry accompanied with thermogravimetric analysis. The surface morphology, microstructure and crystal structure were investig… Show more

“…The endothermic spectra at ~130 °C is related to the evaporation of physically absorbed water on the scaffold surface [ 36 ]. The exothermic peaks at 197 and 244 °C are related to the self-combustion process of the burning hair band with the evolution of volatile products [ 37 ]. Chemically absorbed water requires more energy to be released from the structure.…”

“…It is generally considered that the high thermal conductivity of the metal ions between the polymer chains promotes thermal decomposition. At 420 • C, the mass reduction decreases and then begins to decrease again at 570 • C, which is the point where the NiZn ferrite fiber begins to crystallize into the spinel structure [38]. The reaction ends at 685 • C with a final mass loss of 88 wt%.…”

“…The reaction ends at 685 • C with a final mass loss of 88 wt%. Regarding these experimental results, the heat treatment temperature of the nanofibers used in the analysis was determined to be 750 • C. which is the point where the NiZn ferrite fiber begins to crystallize into the spinel structure [38]. The reaction ends at 685 °C with a final mass loss of 88 wt%.…”

“…MNFs with fine performance can also be prepared from spinel‐type ferrite. Streckova et al . fabricated the pure single‐phase spinel Ni 0.2 Zn 0.8 Fe 2 O 4 NF membranes via needleless electrospinning and conventional thermal treatment of the precursor fibers at 800 °C for 4 h in air.…”
