PREPARATION AND PHOTOCATALYTIC ACTIVITY OF NOVEL PPy/GO/BiVO4 NANOCOMPOSITES

Abstract: A new type of poly pyrrole/graphene oxide/bismuth vanadate (PPy/GO/BiVO4) ternary nanocomposite with excellent visible light-driven photocatalytic degradation performance was prepared by the traditional hydrothermal method. The photocatalyst samples were characterized and analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-vis DRS). Under visible light … Show more

“…In recent years, researchers have conducted many explorations to study the synthesis, application and catalytic mechanisms of semiconductor photocatalysts [ 3 ]. Nanosemiconductors, including BiVO 4 , ZnS, CdS, Fe 2 O 3 , ZnO and Ag 2 WO 4 , have been used for a variety of environmental purifications, such as organic degradation, microbial inactivation and water splitting [ 4 ]. Despite their effectiveness, they suffer from e-/h+ recombination, wide-band-gap energy, and lower stability, all of which can significantly reduce their efficiency [ 5 ].…”
