Abstract:Polytitano-and polyzirconomethylsiloxane xerogels are synthesized by a sol-gel process, and their stability and pore structure are studied using IR spectroscopy, thermal analysis, and isothermal adsorption measurements. The results demonstrate that the xerogels are hydrolytically stable and have a well-developed pore structure ( S > 350 m 2 /g), with high metal contents (8-13%) in the polymethylsiloxane matrix.
