Preparation and Properties of Pyrotechnic Binder Encapsulated α‐AlH3 Composites by Solvent/Anti‐solvent Method

Abstract: Alpha-aluminum hydride (α-AlH 3 ) is an ideal energetic combustion agent, but its poor stability and safety limit its application. Therefore, we prepare different composites by using the solvent/anti-solvent method to coat different pyrotechnic binders on the surface of α-AlH 3 . The vacuum stability test show that the minimum outgassing of Shellac-coated α-AlH 3 composite is only 1.2 mL/g at 50 °C for 6 days.
