Preparation and Properties of the PTT/ABS/SCF Composites

Abstract: The morphological, mechanical and rheological properties of poly(trimethylene terephthalate)(PTT)/maleinized acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS-g-MAH)/short carbon fiber (SCF) composites were investigated by the scanning electron microscopy(SEM), universal tester, impact tester and capillary rheometer, respectively. The SEM images of the composites’ fracture surface show that the fracture surface is rough and SCF are randomly dispersed in the matrix resin, and there is a good interfacial interaction between … Show more

“…Run et al reported the fabrication of SCF/PTT composites and their nonisothermal crystallization kinetics, spherulite morphology, mechanical properties, rheological, and thermal behaviors [16, 20, 21, 29–31]. They also reported the fabrication of PTT/maleinized acrylonitrile‐butadiene‐styrene (ABS‐ g ‐MAH)/SCF composites and their morphological, mechanical, and rheological properties [32]. These studies were mainly focused on lower fiber contents (below 10%).…”
