Preparation and Some Properties of ScB2 Single Crystals.

Abstract: Scandium I 2500Preparation and Some Properties of ScB 2 Single Crystals. -Single crystals of the title compound are synthesized by inductive floating zone melting using Sc2O3 and boron as starting materials. As revealed by single crystal and powder XRD ScB2 crystallizes in the hexagonal space group P6/mmm (AlB2-type structure) with Z = 1.
