“…Even after 5 cycling runs, the CWPO efficiency remained at over 95%, showing the extraordinary stability of Fe-PAN. In previous research studies, 19,29,43,58 there was more or less a loss of activity of the catalysts after each cycle. The reasons for this could be the leakage of active species, the change in the membrane structure, or the deposition of intermediates and byproducts.…”

“…18 However, the continuous polymer fiber surface restrains the contact between the reactants and the inside active components, resulting in a low catalytic reaction efficiency. 19 To simultaneously increase the membrane catalytic activity and stability, hierarchical porous fibers with nanometals entrapped inside were developed. A pore-forming agent can be added to form porous fibers, but the metal dispersion and polymer−metal interactions would be affected.…”

“…Jiang and his coworkers studied the preparation of zero‐valent iron nanoparticles (ZVI‐NPs) coated in single‐axial and co‐axial CNF by electrospinning polyacrylonitrile (PAN/Fe 3+ ) nanofibrous mats. [ 25 ] Catalytic application of synthesized nanocomposite was assessed against methylene blue (MB). The results revealed complete catalytic degradation of MB when the ZVI‐NPs ratio was increased in the single axial structural fibrous mats.…”
